Dr. Krista Allison is a veterinarian at Avondale Animal Hospital with a special interest in emergency medicine and soft tissue surgery.
She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Auburn University in 2020, after completing her undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of Montevallo.
Originally from Austin, Texas, Dr. Allison has lived in the Birmingham area for over a decade and has worked at several veterinary practices in the region. Her passion for veterinary medicine stems from a lifelong love of biology and a deep desire to advocate for animals.
At Avondale, she enjoys collaborating closely with pet owners to find the best solutions for their animals’ health and well-being. She finds the clinic’s team-oriented atmosphere both supportive and fulfilling.
At home, Dr. Allison and her husband care for a vibrant collection of rescue animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, fish, conures, a snake, and a pony affectionately named Edgar Allan Pony. When she’s not working, she enjoys hiking, horseback riding, and gardening.
